Central Base Station

Measuring 2.5” wide, 3.5” long and 1” thick, the CBS collects the information relayed from the RBS units through the mesh network and makes it available to the CCS. The received signal that contains patient presence, movement, heart rate and respiration rate data as well as various alerts generated by the System are displayed on the CCS monitor using Sensiotec’s proprietary GUI software.

Repeater Base Station

The RBS, measuring 4 1/4” wide, 6” long and 1 ¼” thick, is a wireless transceiver that captures the processed data transmitted wirelessly from the BSP or Tag, and relays it to another RBS or a CBS. RBS units are installed throughout the facility (typically at the ceiling level in hallways) and are designed to relay the information from the BSP to the CCS. When installed in the facility, RBS units form a ZigBee® mesh network which is scalable, redundant and self-healing. RBS units are supervised by the System so the failure of an RBS unit is reported. Due to the redundancy of the ZigBee® mesh network, the failure of a single RBS unit does not cause the System to crash as in this event the failed RBS function is taken over by the next closest RBS the System remains fully operational.
